Here it is November 7th and the Ring of Fire tour finds itself in Salina Kansas. We're just west of Kansas City. We drove here today from Abiliene Texas (538 beautiful miles of Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas). We played there last night to a very enthusiastic crowd of about 1500 theater goers and Johnny Cash fans. The show was followed by what we've started calling a hootenany. This time it was at Steve Kerns, the company managers room. This cast likes to unwind sometimes by grabbing a couple guitars and a fiddle and just coming up with song after song till we're to blurry eyed to sing any more. Blues, Bluegrass, Country, Rock, whatever we know and sometimes stuff we don't know. Then we sleep a while and get on the bus and head to the next town.(We go back to sleep and Mary drives). Today we a 5 AM bus call. It's glamerous alright. A stop in Columbia Mo. and then we head for a week in Tulsa OK. Pretty soon we're home for the holidays. Check the calander for Lo Blu Flame and Mountain Run dates while I'm home in late Nov and all of Dec. Peace, DY |

September 24, 2007 I'm currently in Amarillo Texas rehearsing for the 2007/2008 National Tour of Ring Of Fire. It's the music of Johnny Cash and June Carter and the telling of his life story. We've been here since Sept.9th. There's a great cast and crew and it promises to be a very long running show. We've got an eight piece band and eight singers. After two weeks of learning the music we've started tech rehearsals at the Amarillo Civic Center, a beautiful 2000 seat venue where we'll play two preview shows on Oct. 6 and 7 before officially open our tour in Lubbock Texas on Oct. 8th For those wondering when I'll be performing in Buffalo, I'll be there from Thankgiving through New Years. Check the calendar for dates. For info on tour dates check back at the website or check out Phoenix Productions on the web. I'll try to write often on these pages as the tour progresses. DY |

Down to the Roots, my new CD is being released on Friday September 23, 2005 from 6 till 10 PM. We'll be having a party at the Lafayette Tap Room in Buffalo, NY. It's at 391 Washington St. Doug Yeomans and the Lo Blu Flame will perform songs from the new CD and from my last CD First Flight! We'll have a few friends stop by and lend a hand thoughout the night. There's food and a champagne toast and the admission is free! Down to the Roots was recorded in Nashville with Phil Dillon at the board and co-producing the project with me. There are 12 songs, 11 originals( two are co-writes, one with Phil and one with keyboardist Jim Ehinger.) There's a cover of a Bill Monroe classic, Can't You Hear Me Callin'. The rest I penned myself. The songs draw from R&R, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, and R&B. The misic I love. It's a great big melting pot of American Roots music. We put together a great bunch of players for the project. The rhythm section is: Harry Stinson on Drums (Marty Stuart) Alison Prestwood on Bass Jim Ehinger on Piano and Organ DY(me) on Guitars The Guests include: Ronny McCoury on Mandolin and Vocals (Del McCoury Band) Mike Henderson on Slide Guitar (The Bluebloods) Pete Huttlinger on Fingerstyle Guitar Mike Daly on Steel Guitar and Lap Slide (Hank Williams Jr) David Russel on Fiddle Phil Dillon on Vocals and tamborine (T.Graham Brown) We found just the right players and got just the right groove for these songs. Check it out, it rocks! And come and check out the Lo Blu Flame playing these songs live around the Buffalo NY area and putting there stamp on them. See you out there. DY |
